Most households have two career holders and require dual incomes to support these days.

  There in lies the rub: how can we fix the economy so dual incomes are not required? And yes, the economy is broken if both parents must work.

    Just in the middle of the last century, so within living memory, a household with a single earner, even blue-collar, could afford a house, a car, and to send the kids to college. So we do know how to do this.
