Let me give an optimistic feedback because Reginald's work is well worth it. Reg's essay and his combinator book have had a huge influence on my career and my way of thinking as a programmer. As to the point of the presentation, it's an interesting view of things. Making a note of my explanations explanations is something I should do. Introspective exercises like this can sometimes lead to surprising discoveries.
- matt4077 10y agoReginald's writing is of the kind where you immediately know you're learning from an incredibly smart and creative guy. I'm somewhat sad to have lost him to the JS-world, but at least he has expanded into 'soft' topics like management. As it turns out he's not just analytically brilliant but also full of humanity. To have done all he has with 'a frontal lobe tied behind his back' makes it even more impressive.
