- pjmlp 10y agoDo you know who is Michael Abrash? GDCE 2009, "Rasterization on Larrabee: A First Look at the Larrabee New Instructions (LRBni) in Action" http://www.gdcvault.com/play/1402/Rasterization-on-Larrabee-A-First http://www.gdcvault.com/play/1402/Rasterization-on-Larrabee-... There were another Larrabee talks, but only this one is online. The marketing message was not only about graphics, but how the GPGPU features of Larrabee would revolutionize the way of writing games.
- binarycrusader 10y agoYes, I know who Abrash is -- I have one of his most famous books on my shelf. I'll say it again, the author's claims were very specific: in terms of engineering and focus, Larrabee was never primarily a graphics card Note the author says primarily and is specifically talking about it in terms of engineering and focus.
