I thought so too but it's actually a bug in the radio itself (if you're driving a MK6). You can go to the dealer and reference Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 91-13-03 and they'll do a software update to fix it. --- There's another bug in that radio but I won't tell you until after you see if you want to get it fixed because its really annoying.
