"science of morality"? sigh...
- woodandsteel 10y agoYou are right that morality can't be a science. However, the article is actually about the psychological study of moral behavior, which is certainly science. One reason this is important is there are many important disagreements about the psychology that such a science can help resolve.
- sabertoothed 10y agoWhy can't it be a science? I am with Sam Harris on this one. Video: https://www.ted.com/talks/sam_harris_science_can_show_what_s_right?language=en https://www.ted.com/talks/sam_harris_science_can_show_what_s...
- trav4225 10y agoGranted.
- jostmey 10y agoThe word is so overused these days. Your idea may be rational, it may have philosophical appeal, but your idea is not science unless you carry out "experiments" to validate it. Everyone uses the word "science" without actually having experiments and adequate controls to back it up. FYI, Whenever someone adds "science" to the title, the paper is generally not science.
