A contemporary article about Hyper-G: http://much.iicm.edu/projects/hyper-g/9.htm/ http://much.iicm.edu/projects/hyper-g/9.htm/ My impression was that they tried to monetize Hyper-G immediately, with the negative results mentioned in the original article. Having an open source server may have helped avoid that for both; I think Apache was a powerful force for the web.
