Let's be clear, it's not "illegal" so much as it is against the Terms & Conditions of OSX. Apple could sue you, but they can't put you in jail. Now, there are some questions as it relates to the DMCA, but generally unless you are misusing the software for something illegal (ex hacking) then you're ok. IANAL.
