I don't understand why there's so much hay being made over Alphabet's reliance on Google to fund its other ventures. Wasn't that the whole fucking point, to provide a way to separate the moonshots from Google, to ensure Google's profitability gets reported accurately, and not hit by the losses from the other projects? Furthermore, aren't these project designed and expected to not be profitable in the medium term, with the hope/prayer of huge, life altering payoffs for humanity "eventually"?
