I built one back in 2011 for 25% of the price of an original mac. It was my main development machine. Check out: http://www.tonymacx86.com http://www.tonymacx86.com - It is the one that I used and it was perfect. It was super fun to build one. Buying the parts, assembling it, install the software was a little challenging but fun! Mine still works, I think about keeping it.
