Not sure, a lot of my family is London-ish area English and it works well for them. I think the detection algorithm will look past accent and probably do some deep-learning based technique. Google are probably smart enough to tailor the voice recognition algorithms geographically - if you spend time in Scotland it will probably use the Scottish trained net to detect what you want.
