Using the opulent language Orwell argues against in English language tests like IELTS is a sure way to increase your score.
- grenoire 10y agoOh yeah, experienced this firsthand with an overall score of 8.5 but a 7 in writing. It's really unreliable and graded on a messy and rather elitist rubric.
- AimHere 10y agoTo be fair, anyone who can use that kind of language does have enough grasp of English to communicate, if they choose to!
