There are WeeChat scripts that do exactly that (I think urlserver.py is the recommended one, but don't take my word for it). But version 1.0 (iirc) added bare display mode, which does away with the fancy decorations temporarily. This helps the terminal emulator realise that it's a multi-line URL and let you click it.
