I had a very large project with Delta a number of years ago (6, maybe?) that required our team to work directly with IBM Global Services. To this day I still refer to them as Global Disservices based on the level of performance Delta were getting from them. From DBAs, network/sysadmins, to technical project managers- they were an absolute nightmare to work with for well over a year and a half. It got to the point that their DBA was handing over his keyboard to me to let me just fix the problem, but not before making sure the ticket had been properly entered (and closed as resolved) in the system.
I've been on huge projects with lots of consultants from the big firms that have gone from really bad to really good. Some firms generally do better than others, but most are at worst, pretty okay. Never have I been on a project with IBM GS that didn't require heroic efforts to get them out of the way.
I'm also sort of, but not really, surprised that IBM stuck around at Delta this long because of how pissed their top management was at them so long ago.
