This is an issue of freedom of panorama [1], there's the following citation for the US:
The copyright in an architectural work that has been constructed does not include the right to prevent the making, distributing, or public display of pictures, paintings, photographs, or other pictorial representations of the work, if the building in which the work is embodied is located in or ordinarily visible from a public place.

- smilekzs 10y agoI wish every time someone tries to assert too much authority on me (or any ordinary citizen) there is a way for me to quickly find these citations to my legal rights that I can point to them and tell them to F off......
