Delhi people take it to the next level by having rooftop lawns. I stayed in a rooftop apartment there once and nothing beats rolling around on grass in the middle of a summer night. As far as I can tell in India lawns are a sign of wealth and position. I once visited a dusty air force base in Bikaner and the commander's house had a beaut lawn with 2 airmen dedicated to maintaining it.
