I used to Reverse-Engineer medical equipment (MRIs, CTs, etc). The lack of engineering strictness in theses systems was amazing to me. They are horribly insecure, BY DESIGN My experience is that, no, this is not an acceptable solution. I have no reason to believe that implanted medical devices will be any better.
