Been using Ubuntu for about 5-6 years now. On laptops the wifi drops all the time. Bluetooth fails to connect half of the time or gets stuck and needs a reboot. I can use my Brother printer, those drivers "work", but it fails to center the page properly out of the box, comes out all mangled. Just got a 16.04 fresh install from a vendor, software update immediately borked permanently, had to find https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjfMYjRjAv8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjfMYjRjAv8 to be able to move past it. Again, I'm expected to be IT guy or Geeksquad Man to be able to use this OS, which I'm happy to do at work, just not on my time.
If you go over Ethernet, use extremely conventional hardware and only expect to use it as a machine to browse the Internet then you'll generally be just fine.
It's free, I can't complain, but it doesn't make it any less of a shit show.
