Thank you for your comments. Agree with everything you wrote. The words 'fleet management' may have bounced around in my head once or twice. Nod.

- phaed 10y agoI still don't get it. TinyURL gets a url and makes it smaller, how is this TinyURL for your car?
- Mister_Snuggles 10y agoTinyURL is a short URL that takes you to some piece of information on the web. This is a short URL that takes you to information about your car. I found the name confusing at first, but I can see the logic behind it.
- geekfactor 10y agoHow about just "get a URL for your car"?
- jordanwallwork 10y agoWhy are people so hung up on the url? What's important is the information that you can access. Its like describing Facebook as a set of urls for people
- danielheath 10y agoPerhaps because without nothing is useful if you don't know where to find it?
- caub 10y agoI wish there was some search engines on the web
- phaed 10y agoExactly, isn't the entire webs just urls for resources? TinyURL has nothing to do with it.
- dustball 10y agoI agree the connection is weak. The similarity is that both services provide a short URL for a resource. In the case of TinURL, it is a longer URL. In the case of gping.io, it is your vehicle. Gimme a mulligan on the tagline and I promise to come up with something better :)
- enraged_camel 10y ago"Dude, where is my car?"

- turbohedgehog 10y agoPerhaps DOI for your car is a better analogy? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_object_identifier https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_object_identifier
- iiiggglll 10y agoIt's "find my phone" for your car.
