my first two airbnb experiences were disasters, for different reasons. last-minute cancellation on a trip across the ocean, and a fucking weirdo host. never used it again. i use hotels, and commercial vacation rental services (who happen to list on airbnb, vrbo, other sites), but the point is, i will always use a company when i travel, especially overseas, because i simply do not want to deal with the whims of an individual homeowner when i'm putting my wellbeing on the line away from home. quite frankly, fuck that.
