All of the combini chains make somewhere around 30% of their gross profits from tobacco. So that is their most profitable single category.
SevenEleven is the largest chain, not only by store count - after the CircleK / Sunkus integration by FamiilyMart that will be almost at parity - but more importantly, SevenEleven's per store sales are 20-30% higher: a huge advantage to them.
