Oh man, I can't even describe how much this hits home. I've had something like this happen twice now, where the people in the job interview misrepresent the actual reasons for e.g. technical debt or in general are just not honest about their priorities. I'm now spending a lot more time grilling companies on their development practices and priorities during job interviews. Not all companies are happy with that :)
