I always chalked it up to the "I'm old" sentiment. There hasn't been a language that has actually caused us to think of writing a different kind of software. Sure we write nicer easier code but the software remains the same in the end, buggy, full of problems and not maintainable. These are the problems we should be solving.. the result of what WE code, not how pretty it looks in the ide.
