How do I prevent .crdownload delete after network error: chrome

I was downloading 500MB file from low-bandwidth network from website. After 1 hr & downloaded 95% of file. chrome displayed network and removed the <file>.crdownload entry :( ($@#$@) How do I prevent this ? what is the logic behind removing a file? ps - I can't use rsync.
