I disagree. A site can get (a decent amount of) traffic from Google even without giving it (Google) the open access to ALL the activity taking place on the site

I disagree. A site can get (a decent amount of) traffic from Google even without giving it (Google) the open access to ALL the activity taking place on the site by way of using the Webmaster Tools.
