I'd be interested if anyone had any guesses as to what data type may require a 38 digit number.
- twoodfin 10y agolog2(10^38) ≈ 126. I bet these were 128 bit integers encoded in decimal.
- nstj 10y agoNice one, that sounds on the money :)
- joneholland 10y agoUUIDs perhaps?
- nstj 10y agoAs Number values?
- yeukhon 10y agoCan you elaborate on this? I have not seen this technique.
- nstj 10y agoNot that I condone using an integer as a UUID, but here's some discussion around using a 128 bit integer to store one[0] [0]: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18439520/is-there-a-128-bit-integer-in-c http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18439520/is-there-a-128-b...
