I wonder what those stats would look like for 1980s and 1990s action movies (e.g. anything with Schwarzenegger in it). I severely doubt the phenomenon is new and I think it's more the author trying to make a point by cherry-picking from already rather "silent" genres than analysing a general trend.

  And yet everyone remembers "I'll be back", or "Hasta la vista, baby!". Any memorable lines from recent movies? I can only come up with ironic memes like Bane crashing the plane with no survivors from The Dark Knight Rises.
