ENIAC Programmers: A History of Women in Computing
- greenyoda 10y ago"Used during World War II to calculate artillery trajectories, the ENIAC was 1,000 times faster than similar electromechanical machines and 2,400 times faster than a human at calculating a trajectory." Actually, ENIAC wasn't completed until after WWII was over. A history of ENIAC tells us: "But by the time Eniac was completed, the war was over. The machine did not boot up until November 1945, when 300 neon lights attached to accumulators lit up a basement room at the Moore School."[1] WWII ended on September 2, 1945.
