It wasn't clear to me how the "best guess" works. Did I miss it?
Indeed, if program synthesis can be done for even slightly non-trivial tasks (find in list, etc) that would be a huge boon for StackOverflow answer bots.
- will_byrd 10y agoI gave a short, semi-technical explanation of how Barliman performs synthesis in my answer to `YeGoblynQueenne`. I'm not sure if that description answers your question, though. I agree that relatively modest synthesis could be useful; exploring modest synthesis is why I made Barliman, although I hope Barliman's synthesis can be made less modest! :)
