I'm a long time Linux and Mac user, but over the past few years I've viewed Microsoft as more of an ally... and a company that has so much potential to do new and awesome things, but they just don't seem to know where to go. They seem to be missing an opportunity to make a pretty great ecosystem with the Xbox, Skype, Windows Phone, and Windows 10. I've played with the Windows Phone at a new retail store and really liked it. I'm almost wondering if they had gone for the retail stores earlier on if the tide might have gone their way just a little bit more.
