Stupid Patent of the Month: Solocron Education Trolls with Password Patent
- lintiness 10y agothe authors of these patents should write resumes for a living.
- throwaway2016a 10y agoI was going to jump on this one then I looked at the patent... It is actually a patent for confirming your identity while doing online learning and the password part is just a way to quickly verify once you already verified via the longer form recently (so you don't have to type all the fields every time). I'm not a lawyer but can someone explain to me how a patent like this can be used to enforce just the password part? It seems the password part was cherry-picked from the larger patent and is completely irrelevant without the supporting claims.

- tamana 10y agoEFF has a history of cherrypicking sentences out of patents/suits and writing nonsense articles.
- callalex 10y agoHow is confirming your identity online a novel and patentable idea? That's absurd.
