The main question is why Carmack doesn't use the Facebook Engineering Blog. There are no popups or other annoyances there. For example:

- bertil 10y agoFacebook employees generally communicate internal results or opinion with Facebook posts, a lot like this, using a Company-only privacy setting. Posts like this one sound like something he posted internally first, and just reposted, or changed the privacy setting. I wouldn’t read any more into it than marginal laziness.
