Tldr: op couldn't be bothered to even make a petition, but instead is petitioning for a petition to keep gmane from closing.
Protip, to keep things like this going, send money and or provide actual services to the operators.
- gkya 10y agoThat's another non-profit project, maybe they don't have the resources to host Gmane too but just wnats to help via informing their community, spreading the word and getting counted? Why not be a bit more considerate? And this when the operator is definitely retiring out of wear, not because lack of money, which nobody is asking ATM.
- jordigh 10y ago"Tldr, op, protip", can you use your big boy or big girl words? This isn't Reddit. Yes, we know that just pleading won't do any good, but neither does dismissing the pleading with platitudes.
- GFK_of_xmaspast 10y agoThose paleologisms were around long before reddit.
- jordigh 10y ago4chan, Fark and SomethingAwful are an even more unfortunate source of platitudes.
- GFK_of_xmaspast 10y agoUsenet wasn't any better.
- bitJericho 10y agoI've never seriously used reddit. I like internet lingo. I'm a hip, with it kind of guy. You should go back to programming in forth or whatever you do. Also the op did almost nothing to help, except maybe advertise the issue to his readership, so I feel no desire to be eloquent on the matter.
