I was in the room for this talk; it was pretty electric. Some of the other talks I liked were the Social Engineering talk, and Cory Doctorow's keynote. The thing that crystallizes what HOPE is about, for me, was that their closing ceremonies opened with a fifteen-minute talk about the network situation -- the cabling they had to run, the 1.5Gbps DDOS they withstanded, and then chastised us for not using enough bandwith, saying the ISP that donated a 10 gig line threatened to downgrade it next time.
