Does anyone have an opinion self reported salary websites like glass door? Do they skew high or low? What about other online salary websites?
- enraged_camel 10y agoConsidering the sheer number of fake reviews on Glassdoor, I'm not inclined to trust them with anything, including salary numbers.

- lloyd-christmas 10y agoI live in NY, so grains of salt. While I worked in finance, the numbers skewed very low: 20%+. I'm sure it's industry dependent though, especially since (I assume) finance has a higher standard deviation of income, slower career growth, but a higher glass ceiling.
- phamilton 10y agoUsually don't represent total comp. Most big tech companies include a lot of stock. If it's a publicly traded company it is liquid and therefore can be considered a variable cash compensation amount, but that isn't captured on Glassdoor.
- speruser78 10y agoI feel like https://www.comparably.com/ https://www.comparably.com/ has better figures.
