On the mac/iOS platforms, SMS is not really 2FA since text messages land straight in Messages.app, as Apple forwards the SMS onto iMessage. Granted, the phone needs to be nearby but it doesn't need to be unlocked.
Should we call that 1.5 Factor Authentication? :)
