Adaptability? If "adaptability" comes down to a popularity contest, this probably isn't a viable/stable/ethical currency. Gold has had a long history of success and it wasn't able to undergo a hard fork. The fiat currency that we live with now has legitimacy due to the fact that you can generally expect its value tomorrow to be the same as today. Imagine a fiat currency hard-fork and what that would do to the credibility of it?
