Banks will do NOTHING to cover you in the event of a scam, or their mistake, or their negligence unless there is legislation in place to make them.
The UK ATM phantom withdrawals fiasco rather demonstrated that in the 80s.
- anexprogrammer 10y agoDownvotes? lol whatever. It was demonstrable fact. It took 15-20 years in court before banks stopped always blaming the customer and stopped claiming their systems (computer and otherwise) were infallible. A position they've generally returned to, despite holes in chip and pin and internet systems.
