My 4 year old son has never known normal TV. His entire life has been internet based tv shows and movies. We just went on vacation to a place without internet and they had only cable tv. He was so frustrated with commercials, not being able to pause, or quickly pick a show he wanted to watch, that he decided he'd rather not watch tv at all. So yes, the experience is much worse than internet tv, at least for onboarding 4 year olds. (As a replacement for tv my son picked building sand castles and playing miniature golf, so huge win)
