Since Alexis and Huffman returned I've seen more happen with the brand than in the several years preceding. I don't know who made their mobile app but it is damn good. I resisted at first but am now using it as my primary means for consuming content on Reddit.
- nfd 10y agoThey bought the mobile app family--which was in pretty good shape at the time, no less!--from a third party dev; and then basically abandoned it for several years. They just started actually publishing versions and patches a few months ago.
- 1_listerine_pls 10y agoThey bought it.
- u238ed 10y agoThis version was actually built from scratch.
- grawlinson 10y agoOnce Reddit do a Twitter and limit their API in such a way that kills off alternative apps such as Relay, I'm done with it. Monetization plans can only go so far before people start leaving.
- brokenmachine 10y agoThe only app that I've used for Reddit is Relay, and it's one of the few apps that I've liked enough to pay for, and I've been very happy with it. The gestures work so well to navigate, great for one-handed operation. Can anyone compare the Reddit app to Relay?
- alexis 10y agoThe team has really done a remarkable job -- shipping more in the last quarter alone than over years before.
- dlandis 10y agoTotally agree as a long time user. Keep it up.
- wvenable 10y agoDid you use an app before or did you use the mobile site? I've used mobile apps to browse reddit for years and it's always been a good experience. Sadly they bought the best iOS client (Alienblue) and then killed it off -- replacing it with the current app which is actually much worse.
