What do you think of the American Revolution?
- hnal943 10y agoI was just listening to the Mad Dogs and Englishmen podcast. In the most recent episode they point out that the American Revolution was different precisely because it wasn't a make-a-society-from-whole-cloth revolution like most, but a return to the ancient rights they had previously enjoyed as British citizens. In the French revolution, they changed everything including the calendar. The hubris involved in that kind of revolution rarely works out.
