He meant Android vs iPhone OS.
To me it was clear ever since iPhone OS 1.0 that AAPL wants full control of everything the same way it did with early Mac OS, and in my opinion they will repeat the same mistake again and it's going to cost them dearly in the long term.

- tvon 17y agoI hear that a lot, and it seems like a very conveniently simplistic look at the Apple/IBM/Microsoft situation in the 80's and 90's.
- biafra 17y agoI am not sure it will cost them long term, but I hope that they are forced by something (maybe Android) to open up.
