I have the Lenovo W541 w/ 3K screen, and am VERY hapy with it. Battery life is low, at 1-2 hours, but the 32gb of RAM is essential when running VMs. (though, admittedly, now that we've gone to docker, my memory requirements have drastically reduced.) The one issue I have is that the keyboard is off-center. (with a number pad on the right). Installing Ubuntu was super easy, no tweaks necessary for the nvidia/intel combo (unlike the W530). Power Management is weak, at 1-2 hours... but I haven't run up against that enough to look up what I can do to make it better. So, a LONG time user of Lenovo laptops, (10 years)... Still great laptops. I look forward to the P series (which replaces the W series) with the Xeon processors.
