And let's not forget their laissez-fair approach to abuse reports, which they generally answer with
> We are a reverse proxy, we are not responsible
disregarding any evidence that spamming/DOS/malware/phishing operations are protected by their rproxy services (essentially hiding the actual hoster, which prevents sending abuse reports there) and enabled by their providing authoritative DNS and TLS certificates.
They do this pretending anything that comes from their network is not their responsibility, while at the same time giving tor users a hard time.
Thanks CloudFlare!
- beardog 10y agoThey do not target Tor users directly (although since Tor is a country code there is an off-by-default option to block/annoy all Tor users), they merely target any IP that is associated with malicious traffic, which is what many Tor exit nodes are. (I do agree that they should make it easier to send abuse reports to the real owner, however)
- rando289 10y agoKind of funny that they are the middle man for traffic on behalf of website distributors, and they are not helpful when it comes to serving malicious traffic, and tor is the biggest middle man for traffic on behalf of website users, and they are very punishing to tor users because of malicious traffic. So by their example, we should be unforgiving and unfriendly to cloudflare.
