Darknet markets are like Hydra with 10 heads, when Silk Road is taken down, more players entered and when one other dark-market owners closed shop and jumped with vendors bit-coins, new ones with multi-escrow showed up. Again, with each take down people are improvising and making the system a bit more resilient.
- puddintane 10y agoYou gotta wonder if many of these owners who jump ship with vendors money, are the ones who show up suddenly with funds to "save the day".
- PhantomGremlin 10y agoThis whole result was fascinating to me. Ross Ulbricht gets life in federal prison, no possibility of parole, and yet people are tripping all over themselves to take his place.

- runeks 10y agoIt's evolution. Survival of the fittest, quite simply. The weakest are taken down, leaving more customers for the remaining, stronger competitors.
- aab0 10y agoIt's a rubbish example. The DNMs do not get better thanks to exit scams and takedowns. They get worse, as sensible and experienced administrators depart with a fortune, to be replaced by mendacious incompetents. Nor is the technical side of things any better - they have, if anything, regressed technically on the issue of multisig.
