Yet another ridiculously ahistorical "This is the one / primary reason Rome fell" paper. Ugh.
- HarryHirsch 10y agoIndeed. And how far did Rome fall during the Crisis of the 3rd Century? In those provinces that were unaffected by tribal incursions (Hispania, Africa, Egypt), life was golden! OK, Auson wrote his Mosella a century later, but it's required reading in this context. That poem tells of peace, peace since time immemorial.
