I'll second this article, having for a lot of my life always opened an account at a local bank and in recent years switched over wholly to USAA, they are head and shoulders above anyone I have banked with. I have always had my insurance through them, so cannot really compare them to anyone else, but I have been so happy with them you'd have to drag me kicking and screaming away. I feel bad that my children may not be able to use them for insurance as well (me being the air force brat, not them).
