IMHO, autopilot means "vehicle drives by itself without my involvement"...it's not autopilot if my hands have to be on the wheel. It seems that this technology is Cruise Control v2. Having the hands on the wheel only gives the car manufacturers leverage in denying there is any problem on their end.
