I think article is mixing up cause and effect. It is not that autistic people are good developers, but software development is one of a few good jobs for autistic people. There is zero barrier to enter, study materials are free and it offers great flexibility. Most developers would love to do some other jobs. But the amount of office politics, backstabbing etc is not possible to handle for some people.
