Yay! I'm not incompetent. :) But in all seriousness, yeah, I get that. I keep emergency supplies (90 days/person of backpacking food + water + filters). I also cycle the emergency supplies faster than they expire due to my interests (Food, hiking, computers, books are the sum total of my hobbies) so I find its a good balance point for me since I don't really expect a supply chain disruption would last substantially longer than 90 days.
