Good things have resulted from many tabloid stories, that doesn't suddenly make their overall impact net-positive. >I think that this case sets a chilling precedent for the future of a free press in the United States. The lawsuit wasn't concerning discussion of Hogan's sextape, it was the actually hosting and dissemination of it. Nothing to do with free speech.
